About Spiire

We are an integrated team of passionate landscape architects, civil engineers, surveyors, town planners, urban designers, water engineers, digital specialists and visual media artists providing consultancy services to the property and infrastructure sectors. Our team of more than 350 people work across ten offices in VIC, NSW, SA, QLD and the ACT.

About Spiire Adelaide

The Adelaide office is one of 10 in the Spiire network, supported by the wider team of more than 350 people working on projects throughout VIC, NSW, QLD and the ACT.

Two years on from launching a local presence in Adelaide, the team is thriving. With a focus on sustainable growth, we’ve brought on experienced South Australian civil engineers, who are passionate about the property development sector and its impact on the places they live and work. Now, with the integration of award-winning landscape architecture firm Outerspace Studios, our Adelaide office has expanded its capability to deliver creative, people-focused design outcomes alongside our engineering expertise.

We are supported by the broader Spiire network, leveraging expertise from multiple disciplines across all phases of the development cycle including civil engineering, construction consultancy, landscape architecture, surveying, water engineering, town planning, urban design and visual media. Our Adelaide Landscape Architecture team is also aligned with over 45 established landscape architects across Spiire nationally, regularly sharing ideas, knowledge and project opportunities to deliver better outcomes for our clients and communities.

This creates a rich learning environment that also draws in expertise from across the Spiire business, presenting an opportunity to not only learn from local experts, but also tap into specialist knowledge within other regions.

As the office continues to grow and build on its existing project portfolio, there are exciting opportunities for the right people to join the budding team and be part of its evolution.

Job Description

The Opportunity

As a Senior landscape architect, you will take a leadership role in our Adelaide team – shaping the vision and delivery of projects while guiding the development of others.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the design direction and delivery across a diverse range of projects – from master planning and concept design through to detailed documentation, tendering and construction delivery.
  • Shape and deliver civic precincts, greenfield residential communities, playspaces, parklands, streetscapes, wetlands and urban renewal projects, with a strong emphasis on placemaking and people-centred outcomes.
  • Build trusted client relationships and contribute to business development through proposal writing, fee preparation and leading elements of project pursuit.
  • Collaborate closely with Spiire’s multidisciplinary teams – landscape architects, urban designers, engineers, planners and visual media specialists – to deliver integrated and innovative outcomes.
  • Align and overlap with Spiire’s broader discipline of 45+ landscape architects, regularly sharing knowledge, design ideas and project opportunities across our national network.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, helping grow the Adelaide landscape architecture team’s capability and design culture.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the growth of a new team, set the design standard, and contribute to an award-winning practice recognised for its creative, people-focused outcomes.

About You

You are a qualified landscape architect (preferably a Registered Landscape Architect with AILA) who thrives on leading projects, building relationships, and guiding the next generation of landscape architects. You bring:

  • Proven experience leading the design and delivery of significant public realm projects such as master planned communities, civic and recreational spaces, playspaces, streetscapes and integrated open space networks.
  • Strong conceptual and technical design skills, with competence in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and other relevant software. Experience with Revit and 3D modelling will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to set and articulate a design vision and translate it into built outcomes that balance creativity, functionality and constructability.
  • Experience engaging with clients and stakeholders, preparing design reports and leading presentations.
  • Well-developed commercial skills, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, and confidence in taking commercial responsibility for projects.
  • A collaborative mindset, excited by the opportunity to shape a new team while drawing on the support of Spiire’s national network of landscape architects.
  • Registered, or in the process of being registered, with AILA.
